Truly Proud to be British

Wow, what a great day to be British. I am SO proud. William and Kate look resplendent! They have their feet well and truly on the ground and will lead this country with thought and care.

I think they are amazing and the Jenson car ride complete with the Just Wed number plate around Hyde Park was a really kind, fun gesture.

The sun is shining and all is well with the world. CONGRATS!!!!!

Diet today! Botox soon.

Well, I'm on a fruit only diet until I go to Holland on Saturday. It's been ok. Unlimited fruit and No carbs. Probably a really good detox for me.

Not had any Easter eggs so that's a plus. When I get back next week I want to sort out some botox. Got two frown lines at the bridge of my nose -they really get to me x

So a Degree (and money) buys you a coat of arms....

Well, I hear £400,000 buys you a coat of arms (oh and a degree to go with it) Sounds incredibly pretentious. Is being the in laws of the future king not enough?

NEW show has a title!

  Found out the new show I am in due to be televised next month will be called 'Quiz Trippers'.  If you've read my early posts you will know about the show I filmed in a v cold March through Scotland.

Kinda excited and nervous now but I keep telling myself  'all publicity is good publicity' and would rather be remembered than come across as bland and uninteresting!

Asked for Agent Advice Today

Today I was asked for advice from an actor. She had been told she looked to similar to other actors. This brought her headshots to mind. Should she get new ones done? - well ,no, not until she has decided on her appearance anyway.

We all know the answers to the questions we ask. Just a case of common sense. ..... and masses of perseverance  x

Glorious Sunday!

Took myself in to the glorious sunshine and a much needed walk to a local country park where a horse show was taking place. Avoiding the horse poo I giggled at the labrador sliding up the bank after retrieving his stick from the water below and the random dog who darted into another stretch after a stick thrown by a stranger for his dog!

When the sun is shining and it's serene and calm I realise how lucky I am...............................x

Gi Gio For Holland!

Off to Holland on the 30th for a few days and realised I had no shoes other than boots which in a warm spell may just look out of place!  So off I went and came back with some canvas high leg boots (Bit like Converse).

They'll go well with black jeans :)  When I get back my new show for Channel Four will be about to start.

How much of what we don't do is hampered by our fear...................

Fear can act like a paralysis taking over our whole being and it's catching. Your head tells you you were scared then so you'll be scared now.

Maybe ' Take a deep breath. Bite the bullet and do it' would be apt .

Candis Magazine Shoot

Well did my discussion/mag shoot today in a studio in Manchester. The topic: 

'Do we spend too much time online?'

What with computers, iphones,ipads we have it 24/7 if we want to. We can shop online too.

Perhaps with less time online we could actually meet real people talk to real people, interact and see the real world!! x

My T.V Protogee

Watching Emmerdale here. One of the young female actors started with me. She was cheeky (in a nice way) forward and talented.

I pushed her parents into auditioning her for a well known London drama school. A year in she was offered the part on Emmerdale. I am so very proud of her x

Diversion...Diversion..Diversion.......

Morning,

Simple task. Find the venue for this shoot for Candis Magazine tomorrow. As I currently have no device I relied on AA route planner. However, the diversiontookme to god knows where and I found myself stopping at a petrol station. To get where I wanted to be involved 'Road is closed' not once but twice! As I found it by fluke i am now worried I will be late tomorrow.

Will keep you all posted. The weather is fab here in Manchester by the way x

Sadly my son did not pass his test yesterday but hopefully second time lucky when he resits.

April 6th - a lucky day astrologically speaking....

Wow, the sun is shinning spectacularly this morning here in Manchester. My son has his driving test this afternoon so I hope this auspicious day works for him!

It's days like today I realise how lucky I am and promise not to grumble.

Talented Collie spotted in Leeds!

Hi,
It went from heavy showers to sun to wind/ sun combi to rain whilst having a jaunt around Leeds town centre yesterday. Window shopped for me and bought for others -nothing new there then! Sorry bought some foundation. Had lunch at Debenhams  -sounding more like a Victoria Wood sketch by the minute!! but without the trying on of espadrilles :)


Outside in the moment of sun/ wind combi I met Jess the border collie who would bark and wimper to cue with it's musical owner. Perhaps, BGT might be an option.  Jess drew the crowds and invariably stole the attention from its elderley guitar playing owner.

Watched Lewis last night. Beginning to think its murder totals are beginining to rival good old Midsommer and NO ONE wants to live there x

The power of networking in T.V

Over the years I've met many actors, producers and some well known people.  When you reach a certain level in your profession you also carry a uniqueness - the knowledge (and talent) that got you where you wanted to be. This is what I've observed when attaining success, this can apply to any field:

Being as good if not better than your peers. This involves training unless you win Big Brother and then your time in the spotlight is usually limited.


Network! Get your name out there. Make sure each day  three  people are introduced to you. In person, by business card, shouting from the roof tops -whatever. Be creative.


Be focused!


Don't give up!


Believe in yourself!


When you meet someone who has achieved the success you would like LISTEN to what they say and observe how they come across. You can pick up much for doing this. One of celebrities I took notice of:

Jasper Carrott. Owner of Celador (Who wants to be a Millionaire).    ITV Golden Balls presenter.

My Psychic Bodyguard and the Pink Ladies!

Had a stage school in an old mill until a couple of years ago. Quite often knew I (we) were not alone. One night I had left some Pink ladies costumes in my office within the mill unit. Picture three separate rooms and a long corridor. My office was in the first room as a small separate room through which I could see into the other room and partially through frosted glass to the main corridor.

I'd lock my unit door and come through the first room and unlocked the ofice. As i lifted the costumes rom the hook on the wall my psychic bodyguard was walking past the glass in the corridor as though heading out of the building. I hesitated for a moment. I wasn't frightened just a tad apprehensive.

As i locked my office and went towards the corridor i found myself opening the door with purpose fully expecting him to be near the exterior door. As i did i found the corridor empty and the main door locked as it had been by me when I arrived.

I'm never frightened by him.i guess I should name him at some point. he always seems to be in a hurry.A man on a mission................
